2016 Black College Expo: DC/Maryland
Bowie State University
March 5, 2015
DC/Maryland high school seniors saved hundreds of dollars in application fees, which were being waived at the event. To get accepted on the spot, all students needed to bring was their official transcript and SAT/ACT scores to be reviewed by college admissions recruiters. In addition to getting their application fees waived and accepted on the spot, some colleges offered scholarships valued up to $180,000. For students with musical talent, five top Band Directors were auditioning musicians and singers for band scholarships too! “We are aggressively looking for students to join our band,” says University of Arkansas Pine Bluff Band Director John Graham. Here in DC/Maryland, there will be over $11,000.00 in scholarship money awarded collectively by our sponsors, Toyota, Wells Fargo, Thurgood Marshall College Fund, Feathers of Ma’at, The ASJ Group and the Peace Corps.
